Steel futures retreat as restrictions continue
After last week’s price hikes supported by demand from the acceleration of projects before cold weather arrives in the first quarter, Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures slowly retreated on Monday, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the May 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 30/tonne lower than the previous Friday at CNY 4,475/t ($702/t), while the same contract for HRC closed down CNY 54/t at CNY 4,626/t.
