Steel futures rebound as inventory keeps falling
Although the decline in rebar inventory has slowed and hot rolled coil inventory adjusted more, the two futures contracts still ended a two-day decline and rebounded slightly on Thursday, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2022 rebar contract closed at CNY 4,108/tonne ($610/t), up CNY 42/t on Wednesday. The same contract for HRC closed down CNY 28/t at CNY 4,056/t.
