Some exporters lower Chinese billet prices in Indonesia
The billet import market in Indonesia is still weak, Kallanish notes. Chinese billet remains the most competitive and some sellers appear to be lowering prices.
Most Chinese mills are offering at $475/t fob for 3sp grade 150mm square billet for August shipment. With freight estimated at around $20/t, this would be equivalent to $495/t cfr Indonesia. Offers for 5sp grade billet would be priced roughly $5/t higher.
