Shagang sees downtrend in December flats market
Shagang, a major steelmaker in eastern China, has announced a huge fall in its flat steel offers in December, reflecting its pessimistic outlook for the month with demand expectations now low, Kallanish notes.
Shagang has decided to cut CNY 1,000/tonne ($157/t) from hot rolled coil quotes in December, more than treble the decline seen last month. Meanwhile, offers of medium-thickness plate have been cut by CNY 600/t, including tax.
