Shagang halts production in May

Eastern China's major long steel producer Shagang Group has announced it will cut part of its production of iron, crude steel and finished steel due to the narrowing of demand in eastern China. Kallanish learns from the company's public document that it will suspend one blast furnace for a whole month in May, reducing around 200,000 tonnes of iron output. Meanwhile, it will lose 100,000t of crude steel output due to a 15-day overhaul of one converter.…
