Shagang chairman: Developing EAFs may tighten scrap supply
It is not yet the best time for China to develop electric arc furnaces, Shagang Group chairman Shen Wenrong reiterated at last week’s 2020 China Scrap Steel Conference.
Shen Wenrong, who is also honorary chairman of the China Association of Metal Scrap Utilization, reminded steel mills to rationally increase EAF production capacity in order to moderate the impact on scrap markets.
