Severstal launches new coal face at Vorgashorskaya
Russian miner and steelmaker Severstal has launched a new coal face at its Vorgashorskaya mine, Kallanish learns from the company.
The new face, designated 233-s, has reserves nearing 3 million tonnes of high-quality coking coal, the company says.
Mining is conducted at a depth of 285m and 3km length. The mine’s monthly output is expected to be 280,000t, as the coal face loads 9,700 t/day.
