French car output increases in September
French passenger car output increased 2.5% on-year to 168,826 units in September, French carmakers’ association CCFA confirms to Kallanish. This came after an on-year decrease in July followed by an increase in August.
Production of light vehicles below 5.1 tonnes in weight also increased in September, by 1.6% on-year to 204,220 units. Industrial (heavy) vehicles output recorded 11% growth to 4,221 units. Production and sales of heavy transport units have followed a constant upward trend since last January.
Over January-September passenger car production grew by 5.7% y-o-y to 1.5 million vehicles, while light vehicles output also increased, by 6.3% to 1.8m units. Heavy transport output registered a 16.2% increase to 34,784 units, CCFA data show.
