Kumba increases output but factors hamper sales

South Africa’s Kumba, a subsidiary of Anglo American, increased iron ore output in the third quarter by 11% on-year to 10.8 million tonnes. Kumba has two mines and both are located in South Africa’s Northern Cape Province. Sishen Mine production increased by 14% to 7.5mt, and Kolomela by 6% to 3.3mt. The miner achieved an average lump:fine ratio of 69:31 and content of 64.1% Fe. Production was all directed to export markets, with sales down 9%-on-year…
