Samarco, Vale, BHP improve Fundão compensation proposal
Samarco, Vale and BHP have improved their compensation offer to the Brazilian authorities for the impact caused by the rupture of the Fundão dam.
The companies submitted a new non-binding, indicative settlement proposal of BRL 140 billion ($25.9 million), Kallanish learns from Vale. The offer is BRL 13 million more compared to the previous one, which was seen as insufficient by authorities.
