Russia’s steel production continues to fall in May

Russia decreased steel production in May, according to data from domestic analytical company Chermet. The country’s steelmakers produced 6.2 million tonnes of crude steel, down 2.4% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. Rolled products output amounted to 5.5mt, which is 5.5% less versus May 2023.
