Rio Tinto's second-quarter iron ore output grows
Australian iron miner Rio Tinto increased iron ore shipments in the second quarter, mainly supported by strong Chinese demand, Kallanish notes.
Rio Tinto’s Q2 production was 83.2 million tonnes of iron ore, on 100% basis, while shipments were 86.7mt of iron ore, on 100% basis, from West Australia. This is 4% and 1% higher than Q2 2019, respectively, as well as 7% and 19% higher than Q1 2020.
