Rio Tinto contracts CSI for Brockman 2 development
Iron ore producer Rio Tinto has signed a mining service contract with CSI Mining Services for the development of the Lens A/B pit at the Brockman 2 iron ore mine in Western Australia.
CSI will engage a team of 150 people to assist in load and haul, drill and blast and short-term mine planning activities at Brockman 2. The miner expects to excavate 27 million tonnes of waste rock and iron ore over a period of nine months, Kallanish notes.
