Raw steel production inches up in US

The American Iron and Steel Institute reports domestic steel production was 1.789 million short tons and the capacity utilisation rate was 82% for the week ending 21 May, as monitored by Kallanish. This marks an uptick over last week of 0.2%. The number indicates a 2.5% decrease in US raw production from the same period last year.
