Posco’s overseas subsidiaries struggle in 2019
Posco’s overseas subsidiaries saw revenues and profits contract in 2019. Posco has now sold off its Vietnamese subsidiary after it booked losses last year, Kallanish notes.
In Indonesia, Krakatau Posco saw revenues slide by -3.88% year-on-year to $1.635 billion. Operating profit however slumped by -95.4% to just $5 million. The company saw record sales volumes, Posco says, but prices for its slab shrank -15% on-year, while prices for its plate fell by -6%.
