Posco plans EAF for carbon reduction
South Korean steelmaker Posco plans to add electric arc furnaces to its production sites to reduce carbon emissions and facilitate its green transition.
Local media reported that the mill is discussing feasibility plans for EAF installation with international steel equipment suppliers such as Danieli, Tenova, SMS, Primetals. Posco hopes to install continuously-feeding and preheating EAFs with a maximum volume of 300-tonne, Kallanish notes.
