Plate prices hold in US market
US plate prices ranged from $1,600-1,630/short ton for the week of 9 November, Kallanish confirms. This is the fourth consecutive week prices have held at this range.
“The market is in a holding pattern due to concerns over business conditions, imports, Nucor's new mill and service centre, and inventory positions. I still think prices will fall in December or January because of these issues,” a distributor explains.
