Northwest European plate price soften slowly
Prices for heavy plate in northwestern Europe have given in further, but players are not concerned about sudden steep drops going forward.
In fact, integrated mills are heard to be well-utilised into the third quarter, and trying to keep their offers for commodity grades at around €1,900/tonne ($2,035). But they do have to compete against lower offers from Italy, which after the initial Ukraine war shock is receiving more imports from seaborne origins.
