Nucor lifts tubular base prices
US steel producer Nucor is lifting its base prices for non-contract tubular products by $75/short ton, Kallanish learns from a customer letter.
The increase is effective immediately for all hollow structural sections, pipe, mechanical and piling products.
Nucor attributes the increase to “rising raw material costs, strong demand, and [the] volatility of transportation costs.”
Extant orders will be price-protected through 18 December.
