Japan’s Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation has reportedly agreed a JPY 5,000/tonne ($46/t) price cut in its latest price negotiations with Toyota. The six-month contract price is taken as a benchmark for the Japanese autosheet market, which had previously expected a price increase, Kallanish notes.
