Sluggish market keeps northern European rod prices flat
Northern European wire rod prices remain stable this week amid low demand and a sluggish market, sources say. Most participants do not know what to expect in the next two weeks.
“Demand continues to be weak and the construction industry is silenced,” a trader from the Netherlands tells Kallanish.
Domestic transaction prices for drawing-quality wire rod are at €680/tonne ($732/t) ex-works and mesh-grade wire rod is at €690/t, sources say.
