North American rig count rises by 11
The North American rig count maintained by energy service company Baker Hughes continued its upward climb last week, with both the US and Canada increasing their drilling activities.
In the US, the count climbed by six net rigs to a total of 610 during the week ended 28 January. With four oil rigs and two gas rigs added, the count is now 226 higher than the same week in 2021.
