NMDC’s July production, deliveries plunge
NMDC’s iron ore output plunged 33% on-year to 2.05 million tonnes in July, against 3.06mt produced a year earlier, while deliveries plummeted 10% to 2.95mt, Kallanish notes.
According to sources, India’s duty imposition on iron ore and pellet exports has significantly increased steel supplies in the domestic market and therefore led to a fall in iron ore prices, demand and production.
