NMDC reaches record 40mt output in current fiscal
Indian state-run iron ore miner NMDC says it has produced 40 million tonnes of iron ore so far in the current fiscal year ending 31 March 2022. This marks the highest iron ore production in any fiscal year since the firm’s inception.
“Starting from 4mt in the fiscal year 1969-70, NMDC crossed 10mt in FY77-78, added another 10mt by 2004-05, crossed 30mt within a decade and has now breached the 40 million mark,” says India’s steel ministry.
