Monthly steel imports to the US fall sharply
Monthly US steel imports fell by nearly a quarter during February, Kallanish learns from data supplied by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
According to recent Commerce data, monthly steel imports to the US fell by 23.1% in February to 2.34 million short tons. Finished steel imports fell by 19.7% during the month to a total of 1.83m st. On-year, both total and finished steel exports remain up by 50.1% and 53.1%, respectively.
