MMK’s sinter production hits 32-year high
Russian steelmaker MMK produced 11.4 million tonnes of sinter last year, which is a record figure since 1989, Kallanish notes.
The sinter shop includes three sinter plants with a total capacity of 11.3 million tonnes/year. In recent years, sulphur trapping units No. 2 and No.3 have been reconstructed at sinter plants, which has made it possible to significantly reduce emissions of sulphur dioxide and suspended solids, the enterprise claims.
