Mexico’s monthly flats production declines, except HRC
Mexican flat rolled steel production decreased month-on-month in February, except for hot rolled coil, Kallanish notes.
According to data from local statistics institute Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi), Mexico produced 334,661 tonnes of hot rolled coil in March, up 15,969t from February but down by 4.9% year-on-year. Three-month production was approximately 1 million tonnes, up 4.2% compared with 967,314t in January-March 2023.
