Mexico's Deacero invests $590m to expand production
Mexican steelmaker Deacero plans to expand its long steel production to almost 1 million tonnes/year by 2024 to meet increasing local demand, Kallanish notes.
As part of its 70th anniversary, the company announced that its board has approved an investment of MXN 12 billion ($590.5 million). Deacero’s plan includes the buying of new technology and modern equipment, which will support the expansion of its product portfolio.
