Metals Company plant could produce manganese for steelmaking
The Metals Company says its pilot smelting project is successfully converting seafloor nodules into alloys containing critical battery metals, Kallanish reports. One product from the process will be a manganese silicate which will be sold to market for further processing into manganese alloy, used in steelmaking.
