Mechel’s output increases slightly, sales fall amid sanctions
Mechel's steel and mineral output increased last year, while sales volumes of most products decreased, Kallanish notes.
Merchant washed coking coal sales fell 8% on-year to 2.5 million tonnes and by 25% on-quarter in the fourth quarter alone to 546,000t. The main reason were restrictions on rail transportation of products to Far Eastern ports in the second half of 2022.
