Monthly US steel import permit volumes climb: AISI
March steel import licence permit applications in the US totalled 2.689 million short tons, an increase of 11.3% from February final imports of 2.471m st, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
The AISI gathered the permit data from the US Steel Import Monitor and Assessment (SIMA). March's permit tonnage for imported finished steel products increased 18.5% from 1.744m st of total imports in February.
