Lower demand pushes down Brazilian pig iron
The Brazilian pig iron export market has seen prices lower since the beginning of June following the general market downtrend and lower demand from the US and Mexico, Kallanish learns from market participants.
"The North American market remains silent, waiting for global prices to drop further," says an international trader. "Despite falling prices, Brazilian traders saw pig iron purchases stalled by the sharp decline in scrap levels."
