Low demand significantly reduces northern European rod prices
Northern European wire rod prices have decreased significantly this week due to lower demand and reduced scrap prices in Europe. Most sources expect further falls in the coming weeks.
“Trade activity is very slow these days and prices have dropped by almost $120/tonne [$128/t], mainly for mesh quality,” a merchant tells Kallanish. “Most mills are not restocking for now and expect more falls despite the nearing construction season.”
