Liberty Galati gears up for blast furnace restart
Liberty Galati will restart blast furnace no.5 in March following the completion of maintenance work on the unit that began in December. This also comes amid rising prices and improving sentiment in Europe for hot rolled and hot-dip galvanized coil.
The producer announced a care and maintenance programme for its only working blast furnace in December (see Kallanish passim). The work was designed to improve the unit’s stability and energy usage.
