Kobelco Angang starts up autosheet line

Kobelco Angang Auto Steel, an autosheet joint venture between Japan’s Kobe Steel and China’s Anshan Iron and Steel (Angang), began production on 26 April. The annealing line may enable Angang to better access the growing automotive market, Kallanish notes. The plant has 600,000 tonnes/year of annealing capacity and cold rolled substrate will be supplied by Angang. The Anshan-based company is 51% owned by Angang and 49% by Kobelco (China) Holding. …
