Kobe Steel mass produces new 1,500 MPa galv
Japan’s Kobe Steel says it has begun mass production of a new ultra-high strength galvanized auto sheet product for hot stamping. It is supplying these products to Spanish-owned stamping major Gestamp, Kallanish notes.
Kobe says the galvanized sheet can be hardened to 1,500 MPa and has high productivity during stamping. The product is a follow on from its high-strength cold-rolled coil for hot stamping developed in 2017.
