KIOCL resumes pellet production
State-run iron ore pellet producer KIOCL has resumed its Mangalore-based pellet production operations, effective 12 August.
Following the iron ore export tax imposition by the Indian finance ministry in May, KIOCL suspended its pellet plant operation in June, which severely impacted its revenue and profit.
The company is also eyeing reviving its closed blast furnace unit in Mangalore, which was shut down in 2009 on a lack of forward and backward integration. The …
