Kanto Tetsugen export scrap auction attracts high-priced bid
The latest tender for Japanese scrap exports on Tuesday reflects the large gain in prices over the past month, Kallanish notes.
Itochu posted the highest bid in the latest Kanto Tetsugen 12 December auction for scrap to be exported from Tokyo Bay. The company clinched 15,000 tonnes at its H2 grade bid of JPY 36,126/tonne ($319/t) fas. This is an increase of JPY 4,236/t or 13.3% from last month’s average winning tender price.
