Kagang prepares to resume production
Xinjiang Kagang Group is preparing to resume production at facilities that once belonged to Laiwu Iron & Steel Xinjiang, a subsidiary of Shandong Iron & Steel Group in Shule County, Xinjiang.
The only ironmaking facility, a 1,080 cubic metre-blast furnace, was ignited earlier this week, implying the countdown to the full resumption of the plant, Kallanish notes. The plant has about 500,000 tonnes/year of capacity for both bars and wire rod.
