Italian crude steel output drops in July
Crude steel output in Italy showed only very limited signs of recovery in July compared with the figures seen in previous months.
According to data issued by local steelmakers association Federacciai, output was down -12.2% year-on-year in July to 1.7 million tonnes. In June it had fallen -13% on-year, Kallanish notes.
In the first seven months of the year Italian steelmakers produced 11.8mt of crude steel, down -18.7% or 2.7mt y-o-y.
