JSW’s August production surges despite iron ore shortage
JSW Steel posted a 22% on-year increase in standalone crude steel production in August to 1.67 million tonnes, despite a shortage of iron ore in the Karnataka and Odisha regions. Flat and long products output were up 34% and 25% respectively to 1.20mt and 375,000t.
The iron ore shortage has, however, capped capacity utilisation at 87.4% in August, Kallanish notes.
