JSW Steel begins expansion of Vijaynagar works
India’s JSW Steel has started the 5 million tonnes/year capacity expansion project at its Vijaynagar works. Indian steel minister RCP Singh laid the foundation stone for the new project on 7 January.
The steel company has undertaken the expansion through its wholly-owned subsidiary JSW Vijayanagar Metallics and earmarked capital expenditure of INR 15,000 crore ($2.02 billion). The project is expected to be completed through the fiscal year ending 31 March 20…
