JSPL eyes world’s largest steelmaking unit in Odisha
India’s Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) aims to build the world’s largest single-location steel production unit in Angul, Odisha.
The firm recently won the Utkal B1 and B2 coal blocks in Odisha’s Angul-Talcher coal belt, Kallanish notes. The new belt combined with coal reserves at Utkal C will provide sufficient supply of coal to enhance JSPL’s capacity for “green” steel making, it says.
