Jiugang reaches $260m deals at China Import Expo
Jiuquan Iron & Steel Group in northwest China's Gansu province signed a $260 million import deal at the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai this week.
The steel mill and Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), which supplies iron ore from Kazakhstan and Brazil, signed a letter of intent to import 1.5 million tonnes of iron ore worth $172.5m from ERG. The average purchase price per tonne of iron ore is $115/t, Kallanish learns.
