Jindal Shadeed unit kicks off wire rod production
Oman-based mills Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel (JSIS) and Sohar Steel have started production of wire rod, their representatives told delegates at this week’s Wire industry fair in Düsseldorf.
Jindal Shadeed acquired Sohar Steel last year with the intention of installing a wire rod mill, especially for deep-drawing qualities. Both steelmakers are located in Sohar. The acquired steelmaker traditionally produces rebar and, to a lesser extent, billet.
