Jigang Group to upgrade electric arc furnaces
Jigang Group in Jilin Province has announced plans to upgrade electric arc furnaces at two subsidiaries, Jigang Fugang and Jigang Taihua, Kallanish notes.
Jigang Fugang will get two new 100-tonne EAFs with 1.5 million tonnes/year of combined steel capacity. By the end of the two-year construction period ending in April 2024, the company must eliminate three 70t EAFs.
Jigang Taihua meanwhile will replace its existing 70t EAF with a new 70t EAF, housing 500,000 t/y…
