Japanese scrap price rises in export auction
A widely-observed monthly export tender for Japanese scrap reflects an upturn in the market, Kallanish notes.
Sangyo Shinko gave the highest bid of JPY 34,470/tonne ($314/t) fas for H2 grade scrap in the 10 May Kanto Tetsugen auction from Tokyo Bay. Its bid, which was for 6,000 tonnes, is up JPY 1,260/t from the highest bid in last month’s tender on 11 April.
