Japanese scrap export tender reflects market weakness
Kanto Tetsugen's latest monthly export tender on Tuesday for Japanese scrap from Tokyo Bay reflects market weakness, Kallanish notes.
The Kanto Tetsugen Cooperative Association auction attracted an average winning bid of JPY 29,478/tonne ($260) fas, which is equivalent to around JPY 30,478/t fob. The latest average bid price is JPY 4,397/t lower than Kanto Tetsugen’s November tender.
