Italian wire rod prices increase
Italian wire rod prices are increasing by €30/tonne ($32) on costlier raw materials and increased production costs, Kallanish notes.
Sales activity is also surging. Drawing mills and distributors have been operating with very low stocks, which is generating the return of some apparent demand at increased prices. This, added to the limited availability of safeguard import quotas, is causing buyers to procure material domestically.
