Italian wire rod deadlock persists

Italian wire rod prices remain flat amid lower consumption from drawing mills and end-users. The market remains in deadlock, with sellers lamenting low volumes and buyers not needing material, market participants tell Kallanish.
Local drawing-quality material is stable at €660-680/tonne ($708-730) ex-works. Customers are pushing to achieve €650/t ex-works and are now receiving material bought from North Africa weeks ago at €640-650/t cfr Italy.
